I also do quite a lot of work at home mostly to help with my dyslexia.
I practice touch typing and we are also using the speech recognition programme within Windows Vista,
and directly with Microsoft Word. This is fun even though it is a testing programme to learn.
I am reading my way through the “Harry Potter” books at the moment.
Text to speech applications are another option that can help dyslexic children,
I am currently assessing a few of these apps, again to find the most suited to me.
I often listen to audio books on the iphone. I have found this an excellent tool,
as the words are scrolled in time with the audio so I can read along with the story.
I feel this is a great way for all dyslexic children to learn from classic books,
without having to spend the time and energy struggling to read them.
